Maritime claim brought under Federal Admiralty Law to recover monetary damages for a man injured while boarding a water taxi in coastal Maine. The insurance company refused to offer any money before a lawsuit was filed by Chris Causey because his client was wearing flip flops and had been consuming alcohol before boarding.  After depositions and other discovery revealed several areas of negligence on the part of the water taxi company, its insurer paid $200,000 to resolve the claim.
