$300,000 recovered for a woman injured while standing in a check out line at a big box store
A pick up truck crashed through the front of an Ellsworth, Maine, store, injuring a woman standing in the check out line to check out. Attorney Chris Causey sued the driver of the truck who crashed into the store front AND the corporation that owned the store. Attorney Causey argued that the store owner failed to have adequate safety barriers outside the store's front doors, which should have stopped the truck. After a year in litigation, the store owner and the pick-up truck driver paid a combined $300,000 for the injured woman for her injuries. Justice prevailed.
